The proofs for my book have now been sent over for my approval, so my evenings are spent reading through the chapters looking for errors. So far there are remarkably few, so I am able to focus a bit more on the flow of the text and appreciate the figures in their new format. Compared to the first edition there are a lot more diagrams and tables so the book is a far more visual experience.
The great question of whether there would be any colour in the book has now been answered. There is… and that colour is blue in no less than 3 different shades! A couple of the new figure versions are shown below. Both of them featured as greyscale figures in the first edition and I am much, much happier with the new format.
As it stands, I have to get the proof-reading completed by the beginning of April, then it all goes off for indexing and final approval ahead of the agreed August publication date.
